2010 Awards Night

An Inspirational Evening of acknowledging our local Apprentices and Trainees
 
North Coast Group Training’s Annual Awards Night was held on Friday 6th August at Novotel Pacific Bay. The night was attended by over 250 travelling from as far as Maclean and Yamba to attend
 
The evening was a celebration of achievement of our regions Apprentices, Trainees and School Based Trainees that are employed by North Coast Group Training.
 
Guest speakers included the inspirational local Michael Crossland who challenged the audience to make the most of their life, having defied the odds of a life threatening cancer to build a life of exceptional achievements,  Luke Hartsuyker – Member for Cowper and Sonny Tisdall, Lifeguard Coordinator Coffs Harbour City Council
 
Major Awards included the:
 
  • Apprentice of the Year 2010 –Daniel Stevens – hosted by Cummins South Pacific Grafton
  • Trainee of the Year 2010 – Alex Swadling – Hosted by Coffs Harbour City Council
  • School Based Trainee of the Year 2010 – Jessica Lansley – hosted by Domain Aged Care Coffs Harbour
  • Indigenous Trainee of the Year – Madeline Louis – hosted by Coffs Harbour City Council
 
 
The local businesses that host the trainees and apprentices were also recognised for their belief in the training and support of today’s youth and for their passing on of technical and life skills to generation Y.
 
They included K & J Trucks Coffs HArbour, Jetty Village Cafe and Noble Auto Repairs Dorrigo
 
“We have employed apprentices and trainees on the Coffs Coast for over 22 years assisting many in not only getting their careers started but supporting them through to successful completion. Our parent company, Hunter Valley Training Company continues to consistently exceed the national completion rate by in excess of 30 %’’ said Mark Sweet Regional Manager
