Three local women are an integral part of the North Coast Group Training (NCGT)  team that is helping local businesses get the right staff for the future and giving local people skills for a better future.

NCGT is currently recruiting trainees and apprentices, including school-based trainees. Newly appointed manager Alison Vella and newly appointed field officer Jane Wayland have been travelling across the region pointing out the advantages of traineeships, particularly with the peak Summer hospitality season approaching.

In the NCGT office is living proof of the benefits of a school based traineeship. Administration officer Bethany Spearing, has just become a full-time, fully qualified member of the NCGT team after completing her Certificate IV in Business Administration. Ms Spearing began her career with NCGT as a school-based trainee in 2008 while studying at Orara High School.

Ms Vella said Bethany is proof that with the right support and the right attitude your future can be what you want it to be.

Ms Spearing said that a school-based traineeship is a great way to get a head start on a career with valuable, paid work, while you study.

Coffs Harbour based NCGT is a division of Hunter Valley Training Company (HVTC), Australia’s oldest and largest group training company. The NCGT team also includes safety officer Angus Speedie and administration officer Tash Tyter.
